YAwarniyki…

Interactive installation

Interactive installation for the facade of the Bolivian Cinemateca with 100 LED panels and kinect sensor.

Festival INDI, Interacciones Digitales. La Paz – Bolivia, November, 2011

When the visitor enters the range of the kinect sensor, it makes a reading of the color of the clothes that the visitor is wearing, reacts by sending a signal to the LED screens with the information of the detected color, thus coloring the facade of the building and launching a “compliment” in Quechua written in Tocapus, which is also translated into Spanish.

yawarniykipaq tukupuyman sunquyniykiman yaykunaypaq

Your blood would like to be to enter into your heartn

Clothes are textile, the compliment is a playful form of poetry and the code is intrinsic in the tocapus and in the programming necessary for the work to be interactive. There are ten consonants woven in each TOCAPU, ten tocapus, ten colors that can be detected and 10 compliments in Quechua.
